Empowering Our Community Through Purpose and Action

Our programs are designed to uplift, empower, and create meaningful opportunities for Black women and girls in our community. Through a focus on education, health, economic empowerment, and advocacy, we work to address critical needs while fostering growth, leadership, and long-term impact. These programs are important because they not only provide resources and support, but also create spaces where Black women and girls are seen, valued, and equipped to thrive. By investing in these areas, we are strengthening individuals, families, and the broader community, building a foundation for lasting change.

Health

The Health Committee promotes health equity and wellness for Black women, girls, and underserved communities in the Greater Austin area. Through health education, community outreach, screenings, wellness initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we aim to increase awareness, access, and outcomes related to mental health, cardiovascular health, and preventive care. Our work aligns with NCBW’s mission by addressing disparities in healthcare access, chronic disease prevention, and overall community wellness.

Education

The Education Committee is committed to advancing academic success and leadership development for Black girls and young women in our community. Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, and scholarship initiatives, we aim to close opportunity gaps and empower the next generation of leaders. Our work aligns with NCBW’s mission by creating pathways for educational equity and long-term success.

Economic Empowerment

The Economic Empowerment Committee advances financial stability and wealth-building opportunities for black women and girls. Through various outreach efforts to include programs. We aim to focus on economic self-sufficiency. Our work aligns with NCBW’s mission by strengthening economic equity through comprehensive actions like workshops and seminars.

Public Policy

The Advocacy Committee supports policies that impact Black women, families, and small businesses in Austin. Through education, strategic partnerships, and civic engagement, we work to influence equitable policy outcomes at the local and state levels. Our efforts align with NCBW’s mission by promoting economic empowerment, access to opportunity, and social justice across our communities.
